Winter is a great time for travelling. Not many people travel in winter and that brings so many benefits. Firstly, the places you’re visiting will be significantly less crowdy than in summer, which is a peak season in most of the destinations.
Since my last blog post about where to go in autumn has immense success, I decided to make a winter edition. This time, all these places are in Europe. If this blog post will be as successful as before, I will definitely make an US and Asia version too.
But firstly, I’ll tell you something about travelling in winter. It’s harder to pack for a trip in this (although magical) but crispy cold season. You will definitely need a coat or two in all of these destinations, as well as an umbrella and some warm tights.
If you’ve ever been to Prague, you’ll know what to expect. Beautiful and picturesque architecture with a hint of borocco and gothic styles mixed together. Lots of tourists, boozy vacationers and beer that’s truly cheaper than water.
However, Prague isn’t just that. It’s much more than just Charles Bridge, astronomical clock or Wenceslas Square. There are many gardens and parks inside the city centre, which are totally touristless. There are stunning artistic memorials and other hidden gems in this central European city.
Venice is by far one of the most exciting places to go in Europe. Especially for tourists and travellers who read the picturesque magazins, promising blogs or fancy instagram posts. However, there is far more than that in Venice. The city will amaze you by its stunning architecture, it will make you feel lost in its web of streets and charm you by secrecy and thrill of venetian masks. So let’s take a different kind of tour, shall we?
